This exceptional tea from Kyoto is made from the Okuyutaka cultivar, which offers a more complex taste and aroma than many other popular tea cultivars.

This sencha has the right amount of kick that many tea drinkers enjoy.

The tea master carefully rolls and heats the leaves gradually to develop the traditional character and greater complexity that set this tea apart from many other senchas we have tried.

For us, this is one of the most enjoyable and complex Japanese green teas we have come across.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Warm and fresh, with roasted seaweed, umami, delicate cooked-vegetable notes and floral hints.

Palate: Smooth umami body, with dried mushrooms, cucumber, watermelon rind, herbs and minerals.

Finish: Clean and refreshing, with savoury notes and a soft sweetness.
